VERS -> Book I - Player Rules -> What Can They Do -> VERS:Physical Attributes

Physical attributes determine how a character interacts with the physics of the world. Can she pick up that object? How does she move? How long can she hold her breath?

Strength is the attribute that represents a character’s raw physical power. It is primarily concerned with the amount of force that a character can generate with their muscles; how much they can lift and carry as well as how hard they hit. Characters with high ranks in Strength are often hard workers with jobs that require hours of physical labor to do or athletes who workout with weights to attain their powerful physiques. They tend toward large stature, although large size does not necessarily correspond to high Strength. Many athletes have high Strength while still maintaining a small, wiry physiques.

Agility

Agility is the attribute that represents a character’s physical finesse. This is both a measure of how flexible a character is as well as how much control he has over his body. Hand-eye coordination, muscle memory, and both gross and fine motor control are all covered by Agility; if it involves the body in motion it is a function of Agility. Characters with a high Agility are often extremely graceful, seeming to glide across the ground when they walk, or to resemble a cat when poised to strike. They tend towards nimble, quick movements, and great flexibility, with deliberate movements that can seem otherworldly to others.

Stamina

Stamina is the attribute that represents a character’s physical resistance. It is a measure of how much exertion a character can sustain as well as how much punishment they can endure. It also represents their immune system in games that deal with diseases, such as a hard sci-fi, pulp-era, or historical setting. Characters who excel in Stamina can stay up late with no ill effects, run long distances without tiring, and are almost never sick. In many ways, Stamina is a gauge for the overall healthiness of a character, like a snapshot of their physique in a number. Sometimes characters who are otherwise not very physically fit, like those with low Strength or Agility attributes will still have several ranks in Stamina for this reason.
